About us
Urrejola Ingenieros SpA is an agile and dynamic company. We optimize large-scale photovoltaic solar plants during their operation for maximum performance. Team with experience in the field and digitization.
Elías Urrejola Co-founder | Senior Consultant, Experience:
Senior researcher in photovoltaic solar energy, he has worked throughout the industry's value chain: with experience both in the manufacture of monofacial and bifacial photovoltaic technologies (cells and modules), as well as in the design of bifacial plants with monitoring, performance improvement of plants, monitoring and quality control of large-scale solar plants remotely. PhD in applied physics in Germany (2008-2012). He has published in several high-impact scientific journals. Developed high efficiency technologies for the European industry. Currently, it promotes the energy transition based on research and development and innovation (R+D+i) applied to industry. He has worked in the production of photovoltaic modules in Germany and France, and in quality control of large-scale PV solar plants in Chile. He has been in Chile for 7 years developing products and services applied to the energy industry (solar and wind). In addition, he has contributed to the development of technological solutions from academia to industry.

Our services
cleaning optimization
Our clients want to determine the optimum annual cleaning period for their photovoltaic solar project, by monitoring field variables and soiling sensors. With the data provided by the client, we develop Dashboards for remote decision-making. The client accesses a unique web platform based on an optimization model created by us, which, based on field variables, optimizes the cleaning losses of solar plants. This greatly reduces maintenance costs. If necessary, we review the calibration of the sensors during site visits.
Underperforming Analysis
Our clients are concerned about the low performance (underperformance) of their projects, and for this reason, they ask us to review in detail the historical production data, with the highest level of discretization possible. Thus, we identify the sources that produce the low performance: dumping (curtailment), fouling, damaged inverters, damaged solar modules, solar trackers that do not follow the sun. We can study P50 and P90 in energy analysis.
Energy performance evaluation
Energy performance assessments are necessary to determine the energy that could be produced by a photovoltaic plant during its design and have a direct impact on the financial model of the plant.
independent diagnosis
We support quality control in the field on the quality of the solar installation and photovoltaic panels, through visual inspections, thermographic measurements, electroluminescence measurements and voltage current (IV) curve tracer. This makes it possible to ensure the quality of the solar plant and especially photovoltaic technologies when a principal requires it.

Why do solar plants fail?
Plants currently suffer from loss of energy, although the technology is mature and efficient, failures occur, either due to (a) early failure of key elements at the beginning of their useful life
